HISTORY | 
| The concept was born from the intention of the City of Weston to coordinate cultural event requests through an Arts Alliance. The Arts Council of Greater Weston entered into an agreement with the City of Weston in September of 2003 to advocate and promote arts and culture events and to review event request for the City |

OUR MISSION | 
| To help our community provide diverse arts and culture events and activities that will place Weston among the pre-eminent South Florida communities |

| To assist existing arts and cultural organizations in their efforts to bring high quality events and programming to enhance the quality of life for all residents and neighboring cities |
 | To assist the City in filtering requests to sponsor or provide venues for arts and cultural events |
 | To be a liaison between the community, the City of Weston and the Broward County Cultural Affairs Division. |
 | To raise awareness for the current issues affecting the arts and culture within our community |

| THE ARTS | 
| Performing Arts: Theater, motion pictures, drama, comedy, music, dance, acrobatics, opera and magic. Artists who participate in these arts are called performers, including actors, comedians, singers, dancers, and musicians. |

| Visual Arts: Include two-dimensional and three-dimensional works of fine, graphic, and applied art: painting, drawing, crafts, sculpture, photography, graphics design, film, video and audio. |

| Language Arts: Listening, reading, writing and speaking skills in a given language: literature, poetry and public speaking. |

ARTISTS DIRECTORY |

The Directory of Weston Artists is an
initiative of the Arts Council of Greater Weston to
maintain a showcase of local artists in the Visual Arts,
Performing Arts and Language Arts. To be eligible,
artists must live in or maintain a studio in Weston,
Florida or be a member of the Weston Art Guild. This
directory is designed to help artists exhibit and market
their work. There is no fee for this process. The Arts
Council reserves the right to reject material or
listings. The Arts Council of Greater Weston is pleased
to provide this service to the Weston artistic
community. Please note that this will be public
information.

EVENT SUPPORT APPLICATION | 
| In addition to list local events in the Community Arts Calendar, organizations planning to have an event or other arts/cultural program to be held in the greater Weston area can apply for the support of the Arts Council and sponsorship of the City of Weston. |
